Getting started
Sign up for asemb.ly, open the demo book, and create a book from a template.
asemb.ly accounts are free. You sign in through Clerk at asemb.ly. The first time your account is created, asemb.ly stores the email, name, and picture from that sign-in.
The demo book
A new account can receive a book titled Demo Book. asemb.ly copies a sample book onto your account and points the copy at the same photo files. It does this once. If you already have a demo book, it is not copied again.
TODO: The live demo book only exists when the server has a sample book configured (SEED_SAMPLE_BOOK_ID). Which template that sample uses is stored with the sample, not in this repository. If that setting is empty, signup does not create a demo book.
Create a book
Signed-in users can create a book with a title and a template. The new book starts as a draft. You can create and edit a template even when ordering for that template is still closed.
Photos placed in a book have to belong to your account.
TODO: The exact buttons for signup, the demo book, and creating a book in the live editor were not checked against the running app. This page describes what the account and book APIs do.
